Do you hear that? Stand utterly still, make no noise, hold your breath if need be. The woods will form around you, let them. You are not of this place, but you will remember. What is this journey for, with time so short? Down long narrow tunnels, death stares at us all. What is this journey for? That, my friend, is the beauty of living, and it is entirely up to you.
I come at my black & white photography with two approaches: by geographic region (Sierra, Northwest) and by subject (The River, The Redwood). I tend to travel by region, and within that region I work the landscapes I find interesting, find moving. The artistic thread running through the prints is my aesthetic. When I photograph I try to externalize that which I see and feel within.
